Words of wisdom from kids!

“If you could say anything to another kid with a family a bit like yours, what would you say?”

We posed this question to some of the children and young people who took part in a Voice Lab workshop with Satellite Foundation and Polyglot Theatre in 2020. These young people all have a family member, particularly a parent/carer who experiences mental illness or mental health challenges. And here’s what they had to say:

“You’re not alone.”

“It’s tough sometimes, but you’ll get through it.”

“It gets better.”

“Always be yourself.”

“Your family is a little bit the same as me, would you like to hang out?”

The poster was designed by a lovely Satellite volunteer, Xiangyi. Feel free to print out this poster and stick it up somewhere to remind you that there are people out there with a family just like yours!
