Facilitation
The basics of holding space, strengths-based practises and working with young people at Satellite.
‘Youth Pathways’ is a suite of workshops for Satellite participants who have completed a program and are interested in opportunities for professional development. Each workshop is designed to develop skills, create employment pathways and harness your lived experience in ways that support and empower the next generation of Satellite’s young people.
Throughout the year, we’ll provide workshops in facilitation, leading Satellite spaces, trauma-informed practice and working with diverse young people. Attending these workshops can lead to employment opportunities in peer facilitation, leadership and the lived experience workforce.
Workshops are co-created with young people and the topics change regularly. Whether it’s film and storytelling, a spot of gardening, how to be financially independent, or learning how to avoid burnout as an activist, there’s something for everyone!
The basics of holding space, strengths-based practises and working with young people at Satellite.
Skills and knowledge-building around working with trauma, regulation techniques, and creating safe spaces for young people who may have faced trauma.
Creating pathways to better, safer and kinder conversations that celebrate the wealth of lived experience young people bring to the table and give facilitators the tools to continue learning and developing their practice.
Building on foundational facilitation skills to give you autonomy and confidence in holding space for young people.
While the workshops are super fun and creative, participants also have the opportunity to develop or build on valuable skills for the future:
