Get Published! Share your creativity in our new Mental Health Month zine

1 October 2025

At the start of Mental Health Month 2025, Satellite is launching a new zine: Connected Voices — a community-led project open to people of all ages. While it will be co-created with young people, this zine is for everyone. We’re excited to receive submissions from across our wider community — because this zine is made for you, by you.

What makes it special?

This zine will be built from community submissions — filled with creativity, lived experience, and diverse voices. While Satellite’s roots are in working with young people, Connected Voices is open to everyone. It’s a platform to spark meaningful conversations about mental health and celebrate personal expression in all its forms.

How to get involved

We’re inviting people from across Australia to contribute their unique expressions:

  • Writing
  • Poems
  • Collages
  • Paintings
  • Doodles
  • Photos

Or anything else that captures their experiences with mental health.

Every submission will become part of the zine: Connected Voices — a shared space to reflect, express, and connect.

The zine will be available to download on the 31st of October on our website.

Why participate?

  • Each submission will also go into the draw for 2x $50 gift cards to Funlab!
  • Your artwork will be published in Satellite Foundation’s collection of zines.
  • No need for perfection — this zine is all about authenticity, self-expression, and creativity in its many forms.

At Satellite, we celebrate creativity and storytelling while making sure our spaces are safe and supportive. As a child-safe organisation, we review all submissions and may need to select or edit content. If a piece isn’t published, we’ll always keep contributors informed and explore other ways to share their work.

How to enter:

  1. Submit your artwork to our Connected Voices zine project.
  2. Follow Satellite on Instagram or Facebook.
  3. Everyone who completes both steps will automatically go into the draw to win.

Artwork Specifications:**

Any printable artwork is welcome—just make sure it’s at least 300 dpi (we can help with this if you need a hand).
Written work should be short and sweet (100-200 words) as it needs to fit into a small zine. Each page is approximately 10.5cm x 14.5 cm—just a little smaller than the size of a postcard.
