A message from Our Chair: Rose Cuff to Retire at the End of 2025

At the end of this year, Satellite Foundation will begin a new chapter, as our beloved CEO and co-founder, Rose Cuff, retires and steps down from her role at the close of 2025.

This is a moment of deep gratitude and reflection. While we are saddened by the thought of Rose’s departure, we are also incredibly proud of what she has built and optimistic about what lies ahead.

Rose’s unwavering commitment to children and young people where mental health challenges are present in families has shaped the very soul of Satellite. For over four decades, she has advocated fiercely, listened deeply, and led with compassion and clarity. Satellite itself was born from Rose’s vision: a place where young people feel seen, heard, and supported—through connection, creativity, and community. 

Under Rose’s leadership, Satellite has grown from an ambitious idea into a respected and influential voice in youth mental health. In her role as inaugural CEO since 2021, she has built an organisation grounded in lived experience, strong values, and a deep sense of care. Rose’s influence can be felt in every corner of Satellite—from our programs and partnerships to the culture she has helped to nurture among staff, volunteers, and young people alike.

Transitions are never easy. We know that change brings uncertainty, and this will be a significant shift for our community. But in true Satellite spirit, we approach this next phase with curiosity, care, and hope. The Board is committed to a thoughtful, inclusive, and thorough process to identify the right person to lead Satellite into its next chapter—someone who will honour Rose’s legacy while bringing their own strengths and vision to the role.

Throughout this transition, our commitment to children and young people remains unwavering. Satellite will continue delivering its programs, workshops, leadership and creative opportunities for and with young people, with the same care, integrity, and purpose that has always defined our work. Ensuring continuity and support for the young people at the heart of our mission is, and will remain, our top priority.

In the months ahead, there will be many opportunities to celebrate Rose and everything she has contributed to the Satellite community and beyond. But for now, we want to take a moment to acknowledge her leadership, her tireless advocacy, and the deep humanity she brings to all she does.

Thank you, Rose, for your heart, your courage, and your unwavering belief in young people. You have changed lives, created lasting change, and built something truly remarkable.
