Create & Connect workshops are creative, engaging and fun, offering young people the opportunity to make new friends, and to make art, too!

They are held in-person for young people aged within a range of age groups – 8-11, 12-14, and 14-17 years old. Facilitated by professional musicians, artists, peer facilitators and Satellite staff, these workshops are a fun way to explore collaboration with others and create new connections.

Using a wide range of materials and technology, workshops include:

• music and songwriting
• photography and visual art
• graffiti and meme-making
• creative arts and crafts

And to wrap up the workshop, participants get to share their creative gems with their family and friends.

Create & Connect workshops give young people an opportunity to:

• access supported group activities in a fun, creative, collaborative, and safe space
• learn how to use music, photography, and art to express themselves
• connect with other young people who have a family member living with mental health challenges
• explore their personal and shared experiences through open dialogue
• develop inclusive communication skills, where visual language is as important as the spoken word
