Creativity and connection for mental health and wellbeing

Satellite Foundation is a not-for-profit that connects and empowers children and young people who have a family member living with mental health challenges.

ABOUT US

What we do

Creativity and connection are the core of all of Satellite Foundation programs.

We offer a range of in-person and online programs, workshops, activities, and projects for young people to come together, have fun, connect through shared experiences, and tap into their creative selves. Each program targets an age range, however this is approximate as we understand that all children and young people develop at different rates.

Satellite wants young people to feel welcome, like they belong, are understood, and connected to others who may be in a similar situation. Our programs are co-created and facilitated by young people and Satellite staff and they’re FREE!

GET INVOLVED

“Satellite is a place where I could just be myself, honestly. I don’t have to mask any disability or to try to make myself seem normal to what society thinks. It’s very welcoming and it’s very accepting, so I can just feel safe and just be who I am.”

– Zane, Satellite participant, 2022

“Free therapeutic art and music programs such as this are not available elsewhere in our community. The fact that Satellite travelled and delivered programs directly was much appreciated by works and services. I know this is costly, but given the layers of disadvantage that regional kids can face, this investment means a lot and I hope we have future opportunities to do this again!”

– FAPMI Coordinator, Mildura, 2021

“Your passion and hard work have improved the quality of childhood for [my daughter]. As well as making [us] better parents.”
– Satellite parent, 2021
