Satellite Monthly Creative Series: Paper Weaving

We’re starting October with a new monthly creative resource to support the mental health and wellbeing of families, young people and their friends. This month, we’re making Paper Weaving.

Follow the instructions below and get creative — you can weave with all sorts of materials! Try different types of wool, string, pipe cleaners, printed paper, fabric or even feathers.

In this example, we’ll show you how to create your weaving using painted paper. We’ve used contrasting colours to make the instructions easy to follow, but you can choose any colours or materials you like.

Simply alternate weaving over and under the strips to hold each row in place. Most importantly, have fun experimenting and make it your own!
