Happy Holidays from Satellite Foundation. Here we share a wrap-up of news from 2020 and what to look forward to in 2021.
The holiday season is well and truly upon us and we’d like to share our wishes for a well-deserved and relaxing holiday season after an extremely difficult year. We’d also like to take a moment to reflect on all that has happened over the past 12 months and what to look forward to in 2021.
What Have We Been Up This Year?
Satellite was lucky enough to receive funding in response to COVID-19, and raced to conquer the Zoom room. We smashed out a combination of 4 new online and ‘At Home’ (snail mail-based) programs. These connected 75 children, young people and their families. Our team launched ‘It’s A Mad World’, our first ever online interactive exhibition exploring different perspectives on mental health. We co-created a heap of beautiful soon-to-be-shared resources with our program participants. Our heart-filled team grew from 1 to 6 with passionate and caring people. Satellite engaged in wonderful conversations and projects with young people, those in the arts and mental health spaces, and followers in our growing social media channels.
What to Look Forward to in 2021
Satellite remains grateful, strong, positive and hugely excited about the future. Our first At Home with Satellite program starts in January 2021. This program combines physical care packages of activities with health and wellbeing resources and professional facilitation. ‘At Home with Satellite’ allows children and young people (8-16 years approx.) to expand their creative toolkit. Our Satellite Connect and Satellite Connect Youth programs start again in February. These free 6-week programs are primarily online. They offer a safe space for participants to meet, interact and collaborate with others who may share similar experiences. Satellite Camps are extremely popular and a highlight on the annual calendar. For that reason, we’ll be holding TWO Satellite camps in the April 2021 school holidays. We also have art, photography and songwriting workshops planned for June. To register your interest in any of these programs please complete our registration form here.

Happy Holidays and Thank You for Your Support
Satellite Foundation would not be able to continue the important work we do without the support of individuals, organisations and the corporate sector. As such, we’d like to thank Emerging Minds for their support this year. Emerging Minds develop mental health policy, programs and resources in response to the needs of professionals, children and their families. To offer your donation this holiday season, please visit our Donate page. We are appreciative on any donation no matter how small. This helps us to sustain and grow our programs to reach even more children and young people.
Happy Holidays! Love Satellite
